I've tried many productivity programs, only to be disappointed in their performance. “As a startup founder, I must be as productive as possible. NotePlan also syncs with your iCloud Calendar and Reminders, so you have all the important information in one place, right when you need it. And your devices are kept up-to-date using CloudKit. This means your data is easily accessible at all times. Your notes are based on Markdown and saved in plain-text files. You have a daily notepad for quick ideas, pieces of information, meeting notes, or tasks that need to be jotted down. Instead, you start your day with a blank canvas, which is like a built-in purging system. With NotePlan your day doesn't start with a list of unimportant notes and tasks that were automatically carried over from yesterday. At the end of the day or first thing tomorrow review the note and prioritize for the next day. Jot down notes and additional to-dos as they occur to you.

NotePlan is organized around notes – one note per day, plus any number of undated notes that you can set up in parallel. Integrate iCloud (iCal, Google, Exchange) calendars and Reminders and keep an eye on your time side-by-side with tasks and notes. Using Markdown and notes saved in plain-text popular organization frameworks such as Bullet Journal and Zettelkasten are naturally supported. Then share the decisions and action points with your team to keep everyone in sync.

Now, when you run the Drafts action, you should see those note names show up as options you can choose in a menu. Save the file and close the text editorĥ. Enclose each name in quotes and add a comma between them. Edit that file to include the names of your other notes. Open the “note plan-projects.json” file in a plain text editor (like VS Code, Bbedit, whatever). (sometimes there seems to be a bug on Mac at least where if NotePlan isn’t open when you run the action, the x-callback command is ignored)Ģ. It will also create a new note in your NotePlan app called “Testing”, which you can delete. You can edit the script on lines 4 & 32 to change the name or location of this file (so long as it resides within the Drafts iCloud Drive folder–you can’t move it from there). This will create a file called “noteplan-projects.json” in your Drafts iCloud Drive folder. Run the Drafts action for the first time and type “Testing” (or whatever your want) into the text box.

This way you can add new notes without having to manually update the prompt.ġ. New note name is then saved to Project list file and read into the menu when you next run the action. Or, allows you to name a new file which is created in NotePlan with the draft text added. Reads list of NotePlan file names from a file, then sends draft text to that note via prepending.
